What is Breathwave?

Breathwave is an internationally-acclaimed breathwork modality where participants learn to inspire deep wellness and wonder for their lives through conscious breathing. With the support of certified Breathwave facilitators, breathers are guided out of self-defeating respiratory habits and into profound states of psychosomatic healing and self-revelation.

What makes Breathwave unique amongst breathwork modalities?

Breathwave is a powerfully gentle approach to conscious connected breathing. As a peaceful and pauseless breath circulates through the body, unconscious breathing patterns arise that may impede an optimal flow of respiratory energy. Breathwave facilitators are trained to help individuals correct these unwholesome patterns by using hands-on support, direct verbal coaching, and compassionate affirmations. Once these unwholesome patterns are corrected, individuals can experience the power of a coherent, autonomic breath rhythm— a peak somatic healing experience unique to Breathwave’s gentle approach to conscious breathing.

What is The Self Healing Path Retreat?

This retreat is Breathwave’s Level 1* training, designed for anyone ready to welcome more peace, inspiration, insight, self-love, and practical healing into their lives. For five days, we dive in to the full potential and healing power of Conscious Connected Breathing, experiencing first-hand the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual benefits and breakthroughs for our lives.

With the guidance of a Senior Breathwave trainer and a team of trained Breathwave facilitators, Level 1 participants are guided through ten Breathwave ceremonies based in the elemental wisdoms of Earth, Water, Fire & Ether as well as Patrick’s expertise in Integral Psychotherapy, transpersonal integration and group council.

*Level 1 is also the prerequisite for those seeking to train in Breathwave Facilitation (Level 2).

Please email Patrick at patrickmsellin@gmail.com to introduce yourself, ask any questions & to ensure your completed application has been processed!

Medicine Music Immersion w/ Murray Kyle
& the Breathwave community

November 2nd — 8th, Lake Atitlán, Guatemala @ Casa Floresta

RETREAT DETAILS

What is the Medicine Music Immersion?

Breathwave’s Medicine Music Immersion is designed as an initiatory space for musicians and healing artists who are inspired to offer transformational music in ceremonial settings.

Rooted in Breathwave’s ceremonial approach to conscious connected breathing, this Immersion welcomes the embodiment of Breath as a way of inspiration and self-healing, where music flows as a natural extension of one’s harmonic state of being. We will learn to experience Music not as a performance, but as a unique expression of the Spirit that animates us.

We will come together for daily Breathwave journeys, songwriting workshops, communal jam sessions, ceremonial music education and production tutorials— all tailored to expand our capacity to:

• Attune expression to the musical rhythms of reality

• Nurture authentic voice and musical expression

• Relate to our own nervous systems– even core wounds– as a muse

• Inspire transformation through sacred songs and ancestral sound healing

• Participate in music as a living, co-creative field of truth, goodness, and beauty

Who Is This For?

The Medicine Music Immersion is for those who feel called to explore the intersection of breath, music, and consciousness as a path of personal and collective transformation. This is an incubation space for ceremonialists, medicine song carriers, healing artists/practitioners, and musically-inclined humans to experience their own breath as a way of self-healing and guidance.

This Immersion is especially supportive for:

• Breathwork practitioners seeking to deepen their relationship with sound and ceremonial spaces.

• Musicians who feel called to move beyond performance into authentic service and creative collaboration

• Facilitators, space holders, and retreat leaders seeking to develop their skills in ceremonial music

• Humans who desire to reclaim their unique voice and expand their creative capacity

Together, we become instruments for the living animate life force, guided through the sound of unification with All Our Relations.

No formal musical training is required; only a willingness to participate, surrender old stories, and welcome a brave, new, expressive version of you into being.

While all levels of musicianship are welcome to join us, this Immersion has been specifically curated for those who have attained some degree of proficiency with a percussive or melodic instrument (including the voice and sound engineering) and approach music as a practice of connection and devotion in their lives.

Outcomes & Integration

By the completion of this retreat, participants will have cultivated:

• Embodied relationship with the Breath as a foundation of musical creativity

• Release of self-judgments and outdated stories around creative expression

• Practical experience in co-creating music within a communal field

• Foundational skills in offering music within ceremonial and breathwork contexts

• Practical training and Q&A in mixing techniques, live-looping instruments, audio recording and production

Location

This Immersion will be hosted on the temple terraces of Casa Floresta at Lago Atitlan, Guatemala.

Located on a private cove just outside of San Marcos la Laguna, we will have weeklong access to the cleanest and calmest waters on the lake, with the option of daily swims and paddle board adventures.

Participants will enjoy local organic meals and luxury accommodations at Casa Floresta and Casa Colibri (adjacent sanctuary-homes), with the choice of vegetarian or omnivorous meals & shared or private accommodations.
